Assistant Nurse Manager
Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 (plus performance bonus) with benefits
Location: Steamboat Springs, CO (Hybrid Role)

Overview: Blue Skies Nursing is looking for a full-time, experienced Nurse to serve as the Assistant Nurse Manager to the CEO, combining hands-on client care with administrative and staff support. This hybrid position offers flexibility and the chance to actively engage with clients while also assisting with managing the Blue Skies care team. The ideal candidate will be helping to create and refine this new role as our company rapidly grows.

Key Responsibilities:

Staff Support & Management (55%)
-
Manage the care team, answering their questions and handling non-emergency communications and follow-up.

Act as a liaison between clients’ physicians and the nursing team, updating care plans as needed to reflect clients’ changing health statuses and advocating for patient care needs.

Work with the CEO to manage staff schedules, matching clients’ needs with appropriately qualified staff (RNs, CNAs, LPNs, and Caregivers).

Conduct initial home visits with new clients to ensure each new client has a comprehensive and accurate care plan. Collaborate with the CEO to finalize and update care plans as needed.

Assist with new staff on-boarding.

Approve shift changes and fill coverage gaps when necessary, maintaining a seamless experience for clients.

Client Care (35%)

Dedicate approximately 10-15 hours per week to direct client care, provide in-home RN care, and ensure that our clients receive the highest personalized nursing care.

Act as an advocate for clients, offering support and guidance on healthcare needs and coordinating with medical professionals when needed.

Community Representation (10%)

Represent Blue Skies Nursing at local events on occasional weekends to strengthen our community presence and build relationships.

Qualifications:
-
Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practicing Nurse (LPN) with at least 2 years of clinical experience (preferably in home healthcare or elder care

Active and unblemished nursing license

CPR certification for Healthcare Providers

Leadership or supervisory experience (preferred)

Reliable transportation and current auto insurance

Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, team members, and healthcare professionals

Project management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks and team coordination

Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage staff schedules and align resources to meet client needs

Flexibility to work occasional weekends or nights for community events or emergencies
